Do you match tiles or slate on older properties?

Wherever possible, yes. On period and Victorian properties we'll try to match the existing slate or tile so repairs don't stand out, sourcing reclaimed material where it's needed.

How do I know if I need a full re-roof or just a repair?

If the felt underneath has failed, or the covering is at the end of its life across the whole roof, a re-roof usually makes more sense than repeated patch repairs. We'll give you an honest read on which situation you're in.
